I cannot wait to try out the new Avaya IP office phones that I have ordered for my company. I have at last had the go ahead for the funding to buy some new equipment after years of requesting it. The reason behind me pushing for it is because I am hoping that people will be more likely to use the new items such as the polycom soundstation because it is so new and easy to use. Hopefully they will come along and have a go, just because it is new and then decide that it is a useful thing for them to use all of the time and will continue to use it, even once the novelty has worn off. I am hoping that people will very much enjoy using the plantronic wireless headsets too as they look pretty funky and are good fun to mess around with as well as to use seriously. The whole point of the equipment is to try and get communications working better and to discourage so many out of the office meetings but have them while using the teleconferencing equipment. I am hoping that I can entice people to have fun with it and then use it regularly to start saving the company money.

Technology

My daughter is having her birthday really soon and I have been trying to find out what she wants. She always likes to have a surprise and so will not tell me what she wants so I have to listen out for any hints she might give me while she is chatting to me or her friends. I saw them looking at a magazine the other day and saying how nice Yellow box shoes were so I think I might get her a pair of those. I know her friend has a pair and she would like some like that. He friend also has some Silver jeans which she loves but I think that if I get her something else the same as her friend then they may end up looking identical and I am not sure that they would be keen on that. I have seen some other ones which look quite similar and I think they might be a brand that she likes - Seven jeans. I will have to keep listening I think and see whether she mentions them and find out if she is likely to approve of them or not!
